Scholarships

The Lewis & Clark Home Builders Association established an annual scholarship to assist a graduating high school senior with expenses in pursuing a degree in a construction-related field. This can include, but is not limited to Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, Landscaping Design, Building Trades Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Drafting, Construction Engineering Technology, Carpentry or Plumbing.

$500 is awarded to the selected student based on an application that has been submitted and two letters of recommendations from their industrial technology instructor(s), school counselor(s), or other person whom influenced their decision to go into the building trade.

By promoting a scholarship, the Lewis & Clark Home Builders Association hopes to help those with dreams of working in this industry fulfill a satisfying and rewarding future.

Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Brandon Hertz of Yankton. Brandon is the recipient of the 2014/2015 Lewis and Clark Homebuilder’s Association Scholarship.

Brandon was awarded his first check at the Lewis and Clark Membership Social held on July 7, 2015.

Thank you to all the referrals from our membership. It takes your help to get the word out to these kids and let them know the scholarship is available.

Congratulations to Alex Slagle of Yankton. Alex is a graduate of Yankton High School and he is the recipient of the 2013/2014 Lewis and Clark Homebuilder’s Association Scholarship. Alex’s educational experience and interest include drafting and construction. This made his application stand out during the selection process!

Alex will be attending Mitchell Technical Institute this year with plans to graduate with a degree in Architectural Drafting and Construction. Alex was awarded the Lewis and Clark Scholarship at Yankton High School Awards night on May 7, 2013.
